Tight flash display with rich textures make you almost smell the coffee beans grinding.

Ferrari GT Coundown

What’s Nice
The new Ferrari GT is not yet ready to be released, but the kind folks at Ferrari created a site to get folks charged up. Before you can see the car you can hear the sounds of the GT in various phases of driving. The only annoying part of the site is the numbering of the main menus. It reminds me of the tedious flash sites of the late 90s that did not bother with real navigation and either put up squares or other shapes you had to click on or numbers.

What’s Nice
What isn’t nice about this site? Pick from three different models and have them try on various lingerie, they can walk closer and turn around. Hour upon hours can be spent on this site. The perfect thing for a guy to make sure he finds the right gift for his lady or ladies to view various lingerie styles. The flash video interaction is well done. Although we could imagine the tedious hours spent by the models changing clothes and modeling. Well Done.

What’s Nice
It’s a full flash site, sure. The opening loading sequence is nice with paper tearing as the page loads. The main screen flows into the other sections well. The only detraction is the use of popups for certain content. I am surprised that folks still use popup windows today when there are options such as thickbox or many other solutions.

What’s Nice
Great use of Flash and javascript in the little details. The slideshows, hover over the logo and other small touches make the site a cut above.

What’s Nice
This is a complete Flash site that uses a horizontal slide action. Very polished design and everything is integrated into one Flash movie.

What’s Nice
Nice Flash based site with a carousel like main navigation. There is even a button that allows you to switch to “easy navigation” so you do’t have to chase the menu items around. Once you click a link, the sub page slides over. The slide action seems to be a trend with Take Two and other sites using a similar format.

Take Two

What’s Nice
The site does not waste your time loading flash for a simple effect. You can browse around without going to a completely new page to load another flash movie. The sliding effect is very slick and may induce motion sickness in some and the entire page slides to a different section.

What’s nice
Fresh clean design with blue and grey and black. The Flash homepage feature is overkill since it only really provides some simple animations, but it is slick and clean.

Tour of California Tour Tracker

What’s Nice
The Tour of California Tour Tracker is in it’s second year of providing a media rich view into the Tour of California. The site provides a live look at the daily stages with live feed video and live commentary. Live GPS rider positions are shown on a map so it is easy to keep track of the top contenders.

There is lots of live data available to show you what the racers current speed and what percent gradient of the current climb. This is a very slick use of Flex.
